Responsibilities
- Optimize SATCOM and NTN RAN systems, including radio resource management, scheduling, beam management, mobility, interference coordination, and spectrum sharing.
- Define end-to-end architectures across UE, RAN, core, transport, service layers, space segment, ground segment, and mobile network domains.
- Own architectural blueprints, interfaces, decomposition, technical trade-offs, and Spacetime implementation alignment.
- Lead customer and prospective-customer engagements, architecture projects, technical proposals, public-sector grant applications, and technical reviews.
- Translate high-level customer requirements into implementable technical architectures and Spacetime requirements.
- Design orchestration, automation, FCAPS, network interfaces, APIs, and inter-domain coordination for 3GPP RAN and core functions.
- Apply relevant 3GPP specifications and contribute to standards bodies, industry forums, and ecosystem activities.
- Act as technical authority across engineering, product, partner, business, telco, SATCOM, and defense stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong background in 4G/5G mobile network architecture covering RAN and core networks.
- Proven experience with SATCOM system architecture across space and ground systems.
- Deep understanding of 3GPP architecture, protocols, interfaces, APIs, RAN OAM, and control-plane concepts.
- Hands-on knowledge of PHY/MAC, scheduling, mobility, beamforming, and interference management.
- Experience producing architecture documents, system diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Understanding of cloud-native networking, NFV, orchestration, automation, and network automation APIs.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels.
- Preferred: direct NTN, SCS, or Direct-to-Cell experience and familiarity with 3GPP Release 17 or later NTN enhancements.
- Preferred: experience with GEO, MEO, and LEO satellite constellations, O-RAN SMO/RIC and xApps/rApps, GSMA APIs, simulation or digital-twin tools, network orchestration, software development, scripting, or simulation languages.
- Preferred: relevant wireless communications patents or publications in satellite or mobile communications.
