Responsibilities
- Own technical strategy and multi-year architecture across multiple engineering teams and platforms.
- Lead large, ambiguous, cross-team projects from concept through production and decompose them into deliverable milestones.
- Design and build secure, scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems with strong authentication, authorization, and data-handling practices.
- Translate regulatory requirements across multiple countries into configurable global solutions with product, compliance, and legal partners.
- Drive operational excellence through monitoring, root-cause analysis, deployment best practices, and improvements to availability, latency, and cost.
- Mentor engineers, contribute to hiring, and raise engineering standards through coding, design, documentation, reviews, and knowledge-sharing.
- Participate in hands-on coding, design reviews, production debugging, API development, on-call support, and engineering workshops.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- At least 5 years of leading design or architecture for new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred: at least 5 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
