Responsibilities
- Lead architectural design and technical decisions for SQL Server systems, data models, synchronization patterns, and cross-system data workflows.
- Design, develop, and implement complex features and enhancements in SQL Server and MongoDB.
- Evaluate and modernize legacy ETL-style, batch, and synchronization workflows.
- Define scalable data pipeline architecture and orchestration approaches supporting observability, recoverability, and operational resilience.
- Improve data exchange between transactional systems, analytical systems, and downstream integrations.
- Standardize data synchronization, transformation, validation, and downstream delivery patterns.
- Drive query tuning, indexing, workload analysis, performance optimization, and data lifecycle initiatives.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues through troubleshooting and debugging.
- Collaborate with QA on unit, integration, and performance testing strategies.
- Mentor junior engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and best practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, analytics teams, documentation, support, and customer engagement teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep Microsoft SQL Server expertise.
- Strong proficiency in database internals, query optimization, performance tuning, SQL/T-SQL programming, database design, and data modeling.
- Experience with SaaS, distributed systems, scalability, and high availability concepts.
- Experience with Python, C, C++, C#, or other relevant programming languages.
- Experience designing and implementing complex software features with an emphasis on quality, maintainability, and performance.
- Experience designing, implementing, or modernizing ETL/ELT workflows, batch processing, synchronization services, or application-integrated data pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Technical leadership or mentoring experience is highly desirable.
- Postgraduate education and Microsoft SQL Server certifications are preferred.
- PostgreSQL and MongoDB experience is preferred.
