Base Salary
$180k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Monitor core business-logic software through on-call and non-urgent operations, and define appropriate SLOs and SLAs.
- Extend and monitor the infrastructure stack supporting business-critical customer workloads.
- Maintain system models to estimate risk, plan projects, and debug efficiently.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and company leadership as the site reliability specialist.
- Build and improve orchestration logic for running tens of thousands of workflows concurrently on Temporal.
- Advise backend engineering projects from planning through release and contribute hands-on when needed.
- Optimize services for scalability, stability, and observability as the customer base grows.
- Improve developer experience, engineering processes, and practices, including those related to LLM coding agents.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering.
- Demonstrated experience building efficient, performant, and extensible systems.
- Experience maintaining quantitative site reliability metrics and exercising judgment about SLO and SLA strictness.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, backend services, and Linux.
- Experience implementing and managing AWS infrastructure.
- Strong communication, collaboration, supportiveness, and willingness to seek and provide help.
- Preferred: experience with Temporal, Kubernetes/Helm, Amazon EKS, infrastructure-as-a-service tools, CI/CD pipelines, developer experience, cloud storage or data modeling products, AI platforms or tooling, and early-stage startups.
