Base Salary
$220k - $405k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build frontier agent capabilities and context-layer applications for Perplexity Computer.
- Develop personalization, LLM memory, context summarization, retrieval, ranking, contextual recommendation, and monetization applications.
- Build offline and online auto-research harnesses, experiments, and quality and impact metrics.
- Own the AI model lifecycle from data analysis and modeling through evaluation, production deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvement.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers to improve user-facing products.
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging ML and AI research and algorithms into the product lifecycle.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and shipping robust AI products for large-scale user-facing or data-driven products.
- Strong software engineering skills in Python and experience working in production-quality collaborative codebases.
- Experience using agentic coding tools for large-scale parallel development.
- In-depth experience across the AI lifecycle, including data analysis, rigorous evaluation, and ongoing monitoring and improvement.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills in high-velocity cross-functional teams.
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with LLM context engineering or harness engineering is a bonus.
- Experience with mid-training or post-training frontier open-source models is a bonus.
- Experience with large-scale user-centric and content-centric personalization, user modeling, retrieval, or content ranking is a bonus.
