Base Salary
$187k - $322k/yr
Responsibilities
- Diagnose bottlenecks and quantify defects in current search and recommendation systems.
- Propose solutions using machine learning, deep learning, and large language models to improve search and discovery.
- Implement solutions and conduct A/B tests.
- Develop personalization ranking models and integrate them into the search ranking stack.
- Build personalized retrieval, recommendation models for discovery interfaces, and user-understanding and modeling systems.
- Act as a technical thought leader and build organizational consensus.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in search, information retrieval, recommender systems, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Java, C++, or Python.
- Master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Experience handling large data volumes in a distributed environment.
- Preferred: passion for exploring technology and developing deep domain knowledge.
- Preferred: ability to challenge conventional wisdom and think outside the box.
- Preferred: experience improving, automating, and optimizing distributed systems and tools.
- Preferred: PhD in computer science or a related engineering major.
- Preferred: experience in e-commerce, social networking, or search companies.
