Responsibilities

  • Design and build features across the Rakuten GORA golf reservation platform.
  • Develop API endpoints and maintain batch jobs supporting asynchronous data pipelines.
  • Work across the full stack from database schema and REST contracts to integration tests.
  • Contribute to platform migrations and maintain scalable microservice-based systems.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of production-quality features and maintained systems.
  • Build CI/CD and GitOps systems and support monitoring and infrastructure practices.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of web application development experience using Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with RDBMS technologies including MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MariaDB.
  • Experience with Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and at least one of AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience building CI/CD and GitOps systems from scratch using tools such as GitHub Actions, Argo CD, or Argo Workflows.
  • Experience using AI development tools such as Claude Code or Codex.
  • Business-level English proficiency; TOEIC score of 800 or equivalent is specified.
  • Preferred experience with microservice architecture, design patterns, technical leadership or architecture in large organizations, long-term system lifecycle management, infrastructure as code, and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, ELK, or PagerDuty.
