Base Salary
$146k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale backend services and integrations for payment, billing, identity, and partner systems.
- Lead scoping, design, implementation, and production rollout of owned APIs with minimal oversight.
- Build robust, fault-tolerant systems with multiple external dependencies and scalable architectures.
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines.
- Support partner API standardization, data sharing, payments, monitoring, dashboards, SLI/SLOs, runbooks, deployment, and on-call readiness.
- Collaborate with product, design, engineering, and technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Elevate engineering standards through best practices and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience.
- At least 4 years of experience with Java.
- Experience working with distributed teams and taking high ownership of delivery.
- Experience aligning technical and non-technical stakeholders on scope and delivery.
- Experience building fault-tolerant systems with multiple external dependencies.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines.
- Proficiency with Spring, Gradle, JUnit, and JVM memory and performance tuning.
- Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture, REST APIs, message queues, and scalable architectures.
- Experience with AWS, including EKS, Aurora RDS, ElastiCache, and DynamoDB, plus containerization tools.
- Preferred experience with CI/CD systems, GitHub Actions, Git, automation, observability, monitoring, Snowflake, Infrastructure as Code, CDK, and Terraform.
- Strong written and verbal communication, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring skills.
