Senior Software Engineer II (ML Ops), Marketplace

Responsibilities

Build and maintain full-stack marketplace features, including search, ranking, and renter-facing user interfaces.
Support and extend ML Ops infrastructure, including model deployment pipelines, feature stores, real-time data pipelines, and monitoring.
Collaborate with data scientists to bring machine learning models into production reliably and at scale.
Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
Contribute to technical planning and break complex problems into executable work.
Identify and address performance, reliability, and scalability issues.
Communicate progress, surface blockers, and collaborate across time zones and functions.

Require 5+ years of professional software engineering or ML Ops experience with meaningful backend or full-stack development work.
Proficiency in at least one backend language; the team uses Ruby, JavaScript, Go, and Python.
Exposure to machine learning concepts and comfort working at the boundary of software engineering and machine learning.
Hands-on experience with ML Ops tooling such as Vertex AI, MLflow, Kubeflow, or similar.
Hands-on experience with feature stores such as Chalk or similar.
Proficiency managing data with SQL and programming languages, with exposure to feature pipelines and A/B testing frameworks.
Experience using AI tools to improve workflows and reduce feedback loops.
Experience working in cloud environments, preferably GCP, with AWS or Azure also considered.
Strong communication, debugging, ownership, collaboration, and cross-time-zone working skills.
Preferred qualifications include mentoring engineers, experience with search or recommendation systems, online marketplace experience, and familiarity with real-time systems and latency optimization.
