Responsibilities
- Build and maintain full-stack features across marketplace products, including search, ranking, and renter-facing UI.
- Support and extend ML Ops infrastructure, including model deployment pipelines, feature stores, and monitoring, primarily using Chalk and Vertex AI.
- Collaborate with data scientists to bring models into production reliably and at scale.
- Write clean, well-tested code, participate in code reviews, and contribute to technical planning.
- Identify and address performance, reliability, and scalability issues.
- Communicate progress clearly, surface blockers, and collaborate with engineering, product, data science, and cross-functional partners.
- Mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with meaningful backend or full-stack development work.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language: TypeScript, Python, Go, or Ruby.
- Exposure to ML concepts and comfort working at the boundary of software engineering and machine learning.
- Experience using AI tools to improve workflows and reduce feedback loops.
- Experience working in cloud environments, with GCP preferred and AWS or Azure also considered.
- Strong communication, debugging, ownership, and cross-time-zone collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience includes ML Ops tooling such as Vertex AI, MLflow, or Kubeflow; feature pipelines; model deployment; A/B experimentation infrastructure; search or recommendation systems; or online marketplaces.
