Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Linux-based DMA platform drivers for FPGA interfaces.
- Architect and optimize low-level Linux kernel drivers that interface directly with FPGA hardware.
- Collaborate with hardware engineering teams on SoC constraints and software performance optimization.
- Develop and tune embedded networking stacks for resource-constrained edge-computing platforms.
- Diagnose hardware-software integration issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and Linux kernel debugging tools.
- Contribute to Linux kernel upstream development and maintain internal kernel patches and enhancements.
- Develop unit tests, integration tests, and performance benchmarks for driver reliability and efficiency.
- Maintain documentation for driver APIs, system architectures, and hardware-software integration procedures.
- Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders and leadership.
- Support Agile project management practices and cross-functional delivery of project milestones.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing embedded Linux software in complex production environments.
- Expert proficiency in C programming, Linux kernel architecture, and kernel driver development.
- Experience designing DMA platform drivers, including scatter-gather, cyclic, and memory-to-memory transfers.
- Deep understanding of SoC architectures, AXI, AHB, APB, memory hierarchies, cache coherency, and interconnect fabrics.
- Strong expertise in embedded networking, including TCP/IP, UDP, and custom communication protocols.
- Hands-on experience with device tree development, hardware abstraction layers, and hardware-software integration.
- Proficiency with Linux kernel subsystems including the DMA Engine API, networking stack, interrupt handling, and memory management.
- Understanding of real-time system requirements, deterministic software design, and performance optimization.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems, manage competing priorities, meet aggressive deadlines, and deliver in fast-paced environments.
- Strong collaboration, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
