Responsibilities
- Provide operational architectural leadership and alignment across multiple autonomous product teams.
- Identify and resolve architectural gaps, technical debt, quality risks, and cross-team technical dependencies.
- Define architectural patterns for backend services, APIs, data platforms, front-end systems, analytics, workflow orchestration, and intelligence features.
- Design scalable, resilient, fault-tolerant distributed systems and guide legacy-system decomposition.
- Establish API, front-end, accessibility, authentication, observability, error-handling, versioning, and resiliency standards.
- Drive adoption of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, OpenTelemetry, JSON:API, web standards, and open protocols.
- Collaborate with platform and DevOps teams on containerization, CI/CD, and cloud-native deployment.
- Architect customer-facing GenAI features using LLMs, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, and conversational AI interfaces.
- Define production ML integration patterns covering serving endpoints, API contracts, versioning, health monitoring, deployment workflows, responsible AI, privacy guardrails, and output validation.
- Lead design reviews, code and pull-request reviews, technical assessments, technology evaluations, and architecture documentation.
- Drive AI-enabled development workflows, coach team architects and senior engineers, and mentor engineers across the organization.
Requirements
- 8 to 12+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture roles.
- Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Deep knowledge of web platform fundamentals, browser-native capabilities, architecture principles, design patterns, and distributed systems.
- Experience designing and evolving well-structured APIs for platform integrations.
- Proven ability to make pragmatic tradeoffs in complex, evolving systems and operate across multiple agile teams.
- Experience managing cross-team dependencies and connecting architectural strategy with day-to-day execution.
- Experience in cloud-native environments, preferably AWS.
- Demonstrated experience using AI coding tools and understanding AI applications for development productivity and code quality.
- Proven ability to drive AI adoption and transformation within engineering organizations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, collaboration, problem-solving, and pragmatic operational skills.
