Base Salary
$187k - $268k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Go-based control-plane features for network security products in Linux environments.
- Build and maintain APIs and cloud-based configuration services that translate network and security policies into distributed infrastructure configurations.
- Develop network configuration and orchestration business logic involving VLANs, VRFs, VXLAN, topology, and TCP/IP communication.
- Build software that manages and distributes configuration across networking devices and systems.
- Work with YANG or similar network configuration and management standards.
- Integrate third-party components and internal services into Cisco security platforms.
- Collaborate with control-plane, data-plane, and platform engineering teams on end-to-end functionality.
- Contribute to architecture discussions, feature design, and technical execution.
- Collaborate with geographically distributed teammates during Pacific Time business hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of related software engineering experience, or a master’s degree plus 6 years, or a PhD plus 3 years.
- At least 5 years of development experience in Go or C++.
- Experience developing software in Linux environments.
- Experience developing networking or network infrastructure products.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VRFs, VXLAN, network topology, routing, switching, and control-plane/data-plane interactions.
- Preferred: 5+ years of professional Go development experience.
- Preferred: experience designing and developing APIs with REST, gRPC, or Protocol Buffers.
- Preferred: experience developing, deploying, debugging, or operating Kubernetes-based applications.
- Preferred: familiarity with Kubernetes CRDs, APIs, controllers, RBAC, and secrets management.
- Preferred: experience with switching, routing, firewall, or other network infrastructure platforms.
- Preferred: familiarity with YANG, NETCONF, telemetry, or similar infrastructure configuration frameworks.
- Preferred: experience working effectively in remote or distributed teams.
