Responsibilities
- Build and support robust, scalable access platform services using Scala, MySQL, ClickHouse, Redis, Kafka, NSQ, AWS, Python, and Java.
- Lead complex engineering projects, technical initiatives, roadmaps, architecture, and cross-organizational delivery.
- Design and implement distributed systems and reliable services operating at internet scale.
- Improve engineering processes, systems, tools, monitoring, alerting, service quality, and technical strategy.
- Identify and resolve technical debt, performance bottlenecks, outages, bugs, and other technical risks.
- Serve as a technical owner for the access domain and coordinate with product managers, designers, and engineers.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, documentation, workshops, and ongoing technical guidance.
- Facilitate technical design planning, peer reviews, consensus building, and quarterly goal setting.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience developing and supporting software in a production environment.
- At least 5 years of programming experience in object-oriented languages such as Scala and/or other JVM languages.
- At least 5 years of experience with functional programming paradigms and ecosystems.
- At least 3 years of experience leading engineering projects and initiatives involving distributed systems, reliable service delivery, technical prioritization, or technical vision.
- Professional English proficiency in verbal and written communication.
- Preferred: at least 5 years of experience developing and supporting scalable, distributed backend services.
- Preferred: at least 3 years of experience working with SQL databases.
- Preferred: professional Polish proficiency in verbal and written communication.
