Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, testing, delivery, operation, and continuous improvement of complex backend capabilities for Azure AI Search.
- Drive service quality through monitoring, diagnostics, incident response, root-cause analysis, automation, live-site tooling, and reliability improvements.
- Engage with customers and partner teams to understand scenarios, translate feedback into requirements, and resolve high-impact issues.
- Develop expertise in Azure provisioning and service management and use it to influence architecture and operational practices.
- Provide technical leadership for complex projects by defining architecture, identifying risks and dependencies, coordinating execution, and supporting engineering decisions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, developing, testing, and operating production software.
- Experience developing production software in C#, C++, Java, or another object-oriented programming language; scripting, automation, or SQL experience is advantageous.
- Experience building and shipping production-grade cloud services, including telemetry and monitoring solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Strong systems fundamentals in operating systems, networking, concurrency, storage, algorithms and data structures, cloud platforms, and distributed systems.
- Preferred experience includes Lucene, Elasticsearch, Open Search, the ELK stack, large cloud platforms, cross-team service restoration, and troubleshooting distributed service layers.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
