Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support stateful microservices and Lambda functions in a multi-region cloud environment.
- Build scalable, performant, maintainable, and testable software and distributed systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, Product Managers, Designers, QA, Operations, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Define technical and operational metrics to measure system health and manage risk.
- Mentor engineers within and beyond the squad.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint planning.
- Identify root causes, implement fixes, and optimize services and systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, electrical or electronics engineering, or a comparable field, and/or equivalent work experience.
- Fluency in multiple programming languages and expert-level ability in at least one of JavaScript, Python, or Java.
- Understanding of message-based distributed, scalable, and resilient systems.
- Experience transforming requirements into software designs, documentation, and software.
- Strong written and oral communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.
- Preferred experience with Spring Boot, relational and non-relational databases, caching, pub/sub messaging, event-driven architectures, Terraform, infrastructure as code, distributed systems, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Preferred familiarity with Java, Spring Framework, Redis, Elasticsearch, AWS ECS Fargate, SQS, SNS, GitLab CI/CD, Datadog, S3, and AWS infrastructure.
