Responsibilities
- Design, implement, debug, integrate, and test production-quality firmware and low-level software.
- Engineer core firmware and device drivers for automotive compute subsystems.
- Write, review, and test C, Assembly, and Yocto code across firmware and low-level system components.
- Analyze and optimize CPU, GPU, I/O, and memory usage across system components.
- Plan and prioritize engineering work packages with project management and technical leadership.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team members.
- Collaborate with technical leads, architects, partners, and customers to enable use of platform capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of hands-on embedded software development experience, including recent regular coding at the OS kernel or bare-metal level.
- Strong C and Assembly skills with deep expertise in low-level compute infrastructures.
- Recent hands-on experience designing and contributing production code, such as core features, drivers, or system components.
- Knowledge of Arm architectures including Cortex-M, Cortex-R, and Cortex-A, as well as Arm system-on-chips.
- Experience using, deploying, and developing for Linux.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, written English, documentation, influence, and consensus-building skills.
- Additional system programming experience with C++ or Rust is preferred.
- Python or Bash scripting proficiency is preferred.
- Zephyr RTOS development experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with TF-A, TF-M, U-Boot, Xen, SOAFEE, ROS, and Autoware is preferred.
- Knowledge of automotive, industrial, or robotics standards, protocols, software stacks, and automotive safety is preferred.
- Mentoring experience is preferred.
