Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end software architecture for teleoperation and human-demonstration data-collection systems.
  • Build and optimize real-time robot execution, streaming, and communication paths to meet latency and bandwidth targets.
  • Design adaptable software interfaces that support future robot hardware, sensing, and end-effector changes.
  • Develop validation strategies across simulation and physical hardware, including benchmarks, fault handling, and regression testing.
  • Analyze telemetry and demonstration data to improve operator efficiency, responsiveness, and task success rates.
  • Trace and debug performance issues across software, networking, and hardware boundaries while partnering with AI, controls, and hardware teams.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of software engineering experience in robotics, real-time systems, or complex hardware-software integrations.
  • Proven ability to architect and build scalable, low-latency, production-quality systems from the ground up.
  • Experience designing low-latency communication and streaming systems for real-time applications.
  • Strong modern C++ or Rust experience building and optimizing low-latency, real-time systems; Python proficiency is a plus.
  • Strong systems debugging, autonomy, execution, and communication skills.
  • Preferred experience with whole-body kinematics, motion retargeting, rigid body dynamics, or real-time control systems.
  • Preferred hands-on experience with VR, motion capture, wearable devices, remote control interfaces, or other human input systems.
  • Preferred experience with Unity, Unreal, Godot, SteamVR, or OpenXR; advanced 3D visualization; and large-scale learning-from-demonstration data pipelines.

Benefits

  • Hybrid position based in the Salem, Pittsburgh, or Fremont office.
