Responsibilities
- Lead the technical strategy for GitLab Secrets Manager.
- Own the integration between GitLab and OpenBao.
- Collaborate with Pipeline Security, Authentication, and Platform teams.
- Partner with GitLab.com Infrastructure teams for reliability and performance.
- Represent GitLab in the OpenBao open source project.
- Mentor engineers on secrets management and secure architecture patterns.
- Interface with engineering managers and senior leadership.
- Engage with customers to understand needs and communicate capabilities.
Requirements
- Experience designing and operating secrets management systems.
- Ability to lead architecture decisions for resilient, multi-tenant services.
- Working knowledge of cryptographic and key management concepts.
- Experience implementing authentication and authorization integrations.
- Proficiency in building product integrations in Go and Ruby on Rails.
- Experience contributing to open source projects.
- Demonstrated ability to operate with high autonomy and drive strategy.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
