Responsibilities

  • Own frontend architecture and development for octopusenergy.es, customer onboarding flows, and the customer private area.
  • Build and improve customer-facing modules including bill management, saving sessions, onboarding optimization, and marketing dashboards.
  • Collaborate with Octopus Energy Spain and international engineering teams to develop and integrate features.
  • Deliver fast, customer-impacting code and adapt priorities across different areas of the business.
  • Optionally contribute to backend work using Python, Django, and GraphQL.

Requirements

  • Proven senior-level frontend engineering experience and a strong understanding of modern frontend architecture.
  • Deep expertise in TypeScript and React.
  • Hands-on experience with Next.js, ideally hosted on Vercel.
  • Experience with GraphQL as a data layer and CSS-in-JS solutions.
  • Experience with testing tools such as Vitest, React Testing Library, and Playwright.
  • Experience working in a monorepo structure.
  • Fluent spoken English and the ability to work collaboratively in an international, fast-paced environment.
  • Backend experience with Python and Django, PostgreSQL familiarity, and a full-stack mindset are preferred.
