Responsibilities
- Own the performance, reliability, growth, and stability of Fivetran’s production infrastructure.
- Drive effective incident response, issue avoidance, and timely resolution of reliability problems.
- Monitor infrastructure availability, capacity, and throughput.
- Improve deployment pipeline robustness and automate scalable artifact deployment across environments.
- Incorporate reliability improvements into the product roadmap and coordinate critical bug prioritization with engineering, support, and sales teams.
- Recommend production infrastructure improvements and collaborate with engineering to maintain high availability.
- Monitor infrastructure vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation with the security team.
Requirements
- Expertise with managed Kubernetes services, including EKS, AKS, and GKE.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Terraform, Ansible, Buildkite, Pulumi, and Argo CD.
- Experience with Python and Shell scripting, plus Go; Java experience is a bonus.
- Experience with Linux operating system internals and administration.
- Experience with cloud networking, including site-to-site VPNs, PrivateLinks, and Private Service Connect.
- Experience using AI tools for code review, automation, incident analysis, documentation, and reducing operational toil.
- 5+ years of experience working with SaaS products at scale is listed as a bonus qualification.
- Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL is listed as a bonus qualification.
