Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for F5 BIG-IP, NGINX, and F5 Distributed Cloud Services.
- Design comprehensive application delivery and security architectures for client requirements involving performance, scalability, security, high availability, AI workloads, and containerized environments.
- Lead client technical discussions, translate business requirements into technical architectures, and explain the value of F5 solutions.
- Create solution designs, diagrams, specifications, and implementation plans for application, AI Factory, RAG, and AI Gateway environments.
- Support sales teams with presentations, demonstrations, proposals, and pre-sales technical guidance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams during implementation and deployment to ensure architectural adherence.
- Troubleshoot complex F5 deployment issues, including issues in Kubernetes and AI workload environments.
- Lead and track customer Proofs of Concept through technical validation and business alignment.
- Contribute to internal knowledge bases, methodologies, best practices, white papers, blog posts, presentations, forums, and industry keynotes.
- Provide field feedback to Product Management and Engineering teams and support the launch of new F5 products and features.
- Potentially mentor and guide junior team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent level of experience.
- Minimum of 7+ years designing and implementing network or application delivery solutions, with strong F5 experience preferred.
- Deep expertise in F5 BIG-IP, including LTM, GTM, APM, and AWAF; NGINX and F5 Distributed Cloud experience are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, networking protocols, and security principles.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, and Kubernetes is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with AI Factories, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, AI Gateways, Application-to-Application concepts, and Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol is preferred.
- Proficiency in Python or Ansible for automation and experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
- Experience deploying or securing AI/ML applications, using F5 Distributed Cloud in customer deployments, or working in consulting or professional services is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and technical explanation skills, including experience with Mainstage Keynotes.
- Relevant F5 certifications, such as F5 Certified! Technology Specialist, are highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated thought leadership in application delivery or security and experience providing product-direction feedback to Product and Engineering teams.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Japanese is required.
