Responsibilities
- Design and present scalable, secure, maintainable, and cost-efficient cloud solutions for enterprise clients.
- Own requirements analysis, feasibility studies, gap analysis, and technical solution definition during discovery.
- Deliver and anchor the technical implementation of data engineering and cloud solutions while guiding development teams.
- Lead team management, mentoring, architectural decisions, effort estimation, and cost and risk analysis support.
- Build or oversee distributed data processing, real-time and batch pipelines, data modeling, optimization, migrations, and data lake or warehouse solutions.
- Communicate project status and technical concepts to developers, engineers, business stakeholders, enterprise architects, and CxO-level clients.
- Ensure delivery quality through security, compliance, best practices, testing, and robust architecture.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of professional experience in cloud data engineering, architecture, analytics, or related delivery work.
- Expertise with Snowflake and cloud data warehouses including Azure SQL DW and Google BigQuery.
- Strong implementation experience with data lake and data warehouse architecture across Google Cloud Platform and Azure.
- Experience with Python, Airflow, Azure data pipelines, or other integration and ingestion tools.
- Experience with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data and stream-, API-, file-, trigger-, or microservice-based ingestion.
- Hands-on architecture experience with data engineering stacks, Git, Docker, security implementation, and DataOps principles.
- Experience with cloud data warehouses, data lakes, migrations, digital transformation, and two to three large cloud-service projects.
- Ability to lead architectural decisions, establish best practices, mentor technical teams, and communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Consulting experience, primarily with UK and US clients.
- Preferred qualifications include Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Data Engineer certification, hybrid or on-premises cloud experience, knowledge of GDPR or HIPAA, enterprise consulting or professional services experience, and experience scaling global cloud teams or working with globally distributed systems.
