Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable systems for synthetic identities, test data seeding, mocking, load testing, and deterministic validation workflows.
- Evolve testing strategy toward stronger component, integration, contract, performance, and targeted E2E testing.
- Build safer, more repeatable, and easier-to-operate production-like load-testing capabilities.
- Improve test-platform reliability, observability, and adoption by other engineering teams.
- Partner with product engineering and infrastructure teams to improve test signal quality, reduce false failures, and accelerate validation loops.
- Lead medium-to-large technical projects from problem definition through design, implementation, rollout, and operational ownership.
- Create dashboards, SLOs, alerts, runbooks, and ownership models to improve operational maturity.
- Reduce manual load-testing work involving test data creation, environment setup, reporting, and failure diagnosis.
- Write maintainable code, review code and technical designs, and contribute to technical specifications, RFCs, ADRs, and project plans.
- Mentor engineers and help raise engineering standards around practical testing excellence.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong backend engineering experience with Python, Kotlin, Java, or similar languages.
- Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems, platform infrastructure, internal developer tools, or testing infrastructure.
- Experience improving reliability, observability, operational maturity, and maintainability.
- Experience with test automation frameworks, test data systems, mocks, contract testing, integration testing, load testing, and CI/CD platforms.
- Strong fundamentals in system design, testing, debugging, reliability, and production operations.
- Experience owning critical internal platforms, including alerting, runbooks, observability, reliability, and incident readiness.
- Ability to independently drive ambiguous technical work to completion and balance pragmatic delivery with long-term quality.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering teams and influence technical direction through clear written and verbal communication.
- Passion for improving developer productivity and product quality through scalable, automated, reliable systems.
