Responsibilities
- Participate in or co-design architecture decisions for team tools.
- Contribute to end-to-end product development with a multidisciplinary team that owns the full software lifecycle.
- Design and implement incident-management and monitoring features, including automated detection, alerting, war rooms, and DORA metrics.
- Build secure, robust, and highly scalable production services.
- Develop plugins and integrations with PagerDuty, Slack, Status Page, and observability platforms such as Datadog.
- Participate in distributed-systems design discussions and propose process improvements with organizational impact.
- Lead technical decisions and mentor other developers.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose production incidents under pressure.
- Develop bots or automation for war rooms and incident response when applicable.
Requirements
- Experience leading technical decisions and mentoring developers.
- Experience contributing across all stages of the software-development lifecycle.
- Production incident troubleshooting experience, including diagnosis under pressure.
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs following Open/Public API best practices.
- Experience with Node, TypeScript, and NestJS.
- Experience with DynamoDB or MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of release processes, stress/performance testing, and production monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Experience with observability tools such as Datadog or equivalent platforms.
- Strong interest in distributed systems and highly scalable architectures.
- Knowledge of secure handling of sensitive data, including PII, tokenization, and, where applicable, PCI-DSS concepts.
- Knowledge or strong interest in incident-management tools such as PagerDuty, Opsgenie, or similar.
- Familiarity with SRE concepts including SLIs, SLOs, intelligent alerting, noise reduction, and postmortems.
- Interest in engineering metrics such as DORA and MTTR.
- Experience or interest in AI tools applied to observability or software development is valued.
- Strong communication, teamwork, learning, and feedback-oriented collaboration skills.
