Base Salary
$118k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Guide the design, implementation, and evolution of a unified data collection platform using Go, Kubernetes, ClickHouse, and NATS.
- Improve instrumentation data emission, transit, quality, integrity, and usage billing accuracy.
- Provide technical guidance for usage billing and instrumentation systems, including incident handling, root cause analysis, and service restoration.
- Collaborate across research and development, product, enterprise data, data consumer, and customer-facing teams.
- Make technical decisions balancing product-team usability with system reliability, correctness, performance, and downstream data quality.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical documentation.
Requirements
- Significant experience working with production platform or infrastructure systems.
- Strong proficiency in Go and experience building and maintaining production services.
- Strong backend development experience designing and delivering scalable, reliable systems for internal and external customers.
- Experience making technical tradeoffs involving reliability, performance at scale, data quality, and observability.
- Experience working across team boundaries with product teams, data consumers, and internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with cloud-native technologies and open-source development practices.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and helping teams make clear, well-documented technical decisions.
