Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate scalable backend and ML systems supporting sponsored experiences, ranking, retrieval, and personalization.
  • Develop and own MLOps pipelines for CI/CD, model training, validation, and monitoring.
  • Build data pipelines using big data technologies for model training and feature engineering.
  • Implement and optimize traditional ML and Generative AI models for low-latency, high-throughput serving.
  • Translate research algorithms and prototypes into hardened, production-ready code with Applied Researchers.
  • Apply software engineering practices including code reviews, testing, documentation, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Improve the reliability and efficiency of ML services and mentor team members through technical guidance, architecture design, and pair programming.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related area with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience, in ML, AI, or Data Engineering.
  • Expertise in production software development using an object-oriented language such as Scala, Java, or Python.
  • Extensive experience with distributed processing frameworks such as Apache Hadoop, Spark, or Flink.
  • Production experience with TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Preferred experience with TensorFlow Serving, TorchServe, NVIDIA Triton, LangChain, and Hugging Face Transformers.
  • Ability to build and manage CI/CD pipelines for ML models using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with cloud services, big data pipelines, and databases, including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Ability to design scalable distributed systems and expose functionality through RESTful or gRPC APIs.
  • Strong understanding of operating ML systems in 24/7 production environments, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
