Base Salary
$165k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain iOS ad functionality in the NewsBreak app and publisher-facing SDK.
- Own loading, rendering, and performance of rich-media and native ad formats.
- Ensure accurate viewability, impression, click, and billing signals and reconcile them with partner measurements.
- Own client-side mediation, including demand requests, prioritization, caching, and fallback behavior.
- Integrate and maintain external ad SDKs from Google, Meta, and other networks through version and platform changes.
- Own production health of the iOS ad stack, including incidents involving vendor SDKs and app stability.
- Ship work behind experiments and measure its effect on user experience and revenue.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of production iOS development experience with Swift and/or Objective-C.
- Experience owning a meaningful module end to end, from design and implementation through launch and post-launch support.
- Experience with ad-rendering standards such as MRAID or OMID, or comparable experience rendering third-party content inside a native app.
- Strong debugging skills, including diagnosing crashes and sparse logs without a reliable local reproduction and investigating systems without source access.
- Uses AI coding assistants thoughtfully and can explain when to rely on or override them.
- Experience shipping experiments and reasoning independently about metric changes.
- Demonstrated ownership, problem definition, and execution in an underspecified environment.
- Clear communication with product, QA, and non-engineering stakeholders.
- Mediation or in-app bidding experience is preferred.
- SDK development experience, including public API design, backward compatibility, and dependency discipline, is preferred.
- Experience with feed, video, or other latency-sensitive surfaces is preferred.
- Familiarity with mobile privacy and consent frameworks is preferred.
