Responsibilities
- Define the enterprise AI/ML infrastructure roadmap and architect platforms serving thousands of production models with sub-second latency.
- Implement advanced MLOps capabilities including hyperparameter optimization, neural architecture search, model quantization, distributed serving, and large-scale prediction infrastructure.
- Architect infrastructure for LLMs, multimodal systems, prompt-engineering pipelines, foundation-model serving, and federated learning.
- Build ML observability, telemetry, drift detection, anomaly mitigation, model privacy, Zero Trust security, and self-healing capabilities.
- Establish cross-organizational MLOps governance, compliance standards, experimentation frameworks, and rollout practices.
- Partner with C-suite and product executives, mentor staff-level engineers, establish research partnerships, and represent Trimble through conferences, patents, publications, and open-source contributions.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience with exceptional technical depth.
- At least 8 years of dedicated experience in MLOps, Machine Learning Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering, including at least 3 years in senior or principal technical leadership roles.
- Experience architecting and operating large-scale ML infrastructure serving millions of daily predictions with high availability and fault tolerance.
- Expertise in multiple programming languages, including Python, Go, Rust, Java, or C++, plus distributed computing, concurrency, and performance tuning.
- Extensive experience architecting solutions across AWS, Azure, or GCP and using managed AI/ML services with FinOps cost optimization.
- Deep expertise in end-to-end ML lifecycles, automated experimentation, feature stores, model registries, and rollout frameworks.
- Practical mastery of Kubernetes, service mesh architectures such as Istio, Kafka-based event streaming, and serverless ML pipelines.
- Preferred experience with transformer systems, LoRA, QLoRA, vector-database retrieval, real-time streaming, Data Mesh, privacy-preserving analytics, model explainability, bias mitigation, GDPR, CCPA, the EU AI Act, AI accelerators, or quantum computing.
- Published research, registered patents, or prominent open-source contributions to MLOps toolkits are valued.
