Base Salary
$55k - $75k/yr
Responsibilities
- Create and execute SQL queries to validate backend processing, data integrity, and business rules.
- Perform database functionality testing, including INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE validation procedures.
- Execute ETL testing by comparing source and target data using established test scenarios.
- Create, adapt, execute, and maintain backend application test cases and automated test scripts.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, enhancement, modification, and production-release testing.
- Analyze application behavior, test results, database output, logs, and records to identify defects and processing inconsistencies.
- Support production incident analysis and backend validation under supervision.
- Maintain test documentation, execution records, quality metrics, and defect reports.
- Communicate testing progress, defects, and results and contribute to process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of QA experience in software quality assurance and automated testing, including functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Internships, CPT programs, contract roles, or equivalent hands-on experience may satisfy the QA experience requirement.
- Hands-on experience with an automated testing framework such as Selenium or TestComplete.
- Working knowledge of SQL, including SELECT statements, WHERE clauses, JOINs, and basic subqueries.
- Experience with Oracle or SQL Server database environments and ETL applications.
- Working knowledge of Git and familiarity with an issue tracking tool such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Experience creating and executing test cases from business requirements and documenting software defects with reproduction steps.
- Experience with DML operations and data consistency verification.
- Working knowledge of software testing methodologies and backend application testing principles.
- Hands-on experience with an AI tool such as ChatGPT or GitHub Copilot, including validating AI output and applying human review.
- Preferred qualifications include Agile/Scrum and SAFe experience, ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent QA training, healthcare claims-processing knowledge, HIPAA familiarity, production support experience, and familiarity with healthcare data.
- Basic ability to read and interpret JavaScript, Java, or .NET automation code.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
