Principal Field Engineer
Cognite - AI for IndustryResponsibilities
- Act as a technical liaison to clients, aligning solution designs, integration architectures, and technical roadmaps.
- Develop scalable, repeatable client solutions, demos, reference architectures, and solution accelerators.
- Educate clients on Cognite Data Fusion and related offerings to support adoption, integration, and value realization.
- Partner with sales and field engineering teams on account strategy, solution architecture, use-case development, and technical opportunity support.
- Translate client feedback into product requirements and provide market insights to product and engineering teams.
- Lead client workshops, technical briefings, and technical validations while serving as an escalation point for complex engagements.
- Develop technical best practices and mentor other Field Engineers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in solution architecture, field engineering, or technical presales, ideally in enterprise SaaS, cloud platforms, or industrial software.
- Experience with Python.
- Expertise in industrial data, OT/IT convergence, data integration patterns, and scalable architectures connecting operational and enterprise systems.
- Knowledge of cloud services and architectures from Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Experience with data platforms, APIs, data pipelines, storage, security, and governance in cloud and hybrid environments.
- Strong client-facing, communication, presentation, and influencing skills across executive, partner, technical, and internal audiences.
- Experience in the energy sector or education in fields such as petroleum engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or control system engineering is preferred.
