Base Salary
$228k - $288k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of Everlaw’s technical AI strategy, including frontier-model evaluation and AI approaches at trillion-token scale.
- Guide AI engineers and provide technical mentorship across the broader engineering organization through design reviews, code reviews, talks, and study groups.
- Collaborate with software engineers, security engineers, data scientists, product leads, designers, and other cross-functional teams.
- Identify opportunities to apply advances in AI and ML to legal discovery and litigation technology and influence engineering and product direction.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience working in ML/AI and 8 or more years of overall software engineering experience.
- Experience leading significant AI projects, including applying LLMs in production and working with NLP or text analysis.
- Programming experience in at least one scripting language such as Python.
- Ability to stay current with AI developments, collaborate across teams, explain technical concepts clearly, and help others learn.
- Preferred experience includes retrieval-based LMs, hybrid RAG approaches, vector and graph databases, multimodal processing, AI agents, supervision, backtracking, exception handling, tool use, MCP, SaaS, and distributed systems.
