Base Salary
$226k - $282k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering-wide transformation from AI-curious to AI-native development practices
- Evaluate emerging AI tools and recommend solutions based on technical and business value
- Design frameworks for integrating AI tools into development workflows and CI/CD pipelines
- Lead proof-of-concepts for coding agents covering standardized tasks such as Lite Connectors via CoIL, refactoring, and test generation
- Establish standards, best practices, guidelines, and guardrails for AI-assisted development
- Partner with Security and Legal to protect intellectual property and satisfy compliance requirements
- Optimize the performance and cost-efficiency of AI tool deployments
- Create adoption KPIs, track progress from 50% to 100%, and implement interventions to improve uptake
- Build communities of practice, adoption playbooks, training programs, and enablement materials
- Develop and execute a three-phase AI adoption roadmap
- Oversee a $1M+ annual AI tooling budget and demonstrate productivity gains, cost savings, and ROI
- Manage vendors, negotiate enterprise contracts, and influence vendor product roadmaps
- Collaborate with executive, engineering, finance, learning and development, legal, security, program management, and engineering management stakeholders
- Present adoption metrics, success stories, and ROI to engineering leadership and executives
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience across multiple programming languages and paradigms
- Hands-on experience with AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and Claude
- Strong understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI model capabilities and limitations
- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and modern software development workflows
- Track record of evaluating and implementing new technologies at scale
- Experience driving technical initiatives across large engineering organizations and influencing senior technical leaders without direct authority
- Successful engineering change-management experience and ability to translate technical innovation into business value
- Experience presenting to C-level executives and board members
- Experience driving tool adoption across diverse technical teams and building training or enablement materials
- Data-driven approach to measuring and improving adoption, with strong communication, patience, and empathy
- Preferred experience with Fivetran’s technology stack, developer productivity, platform engineering, DevEx, virtual agents or coding assistants in production, AI/ML fundamentals, enterprise AI governance, or high-growth SaaS companies
