Base Salary
$203k - $274k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive technical strategy and architecture for Financial Assistant capabilities, including LLM-backed features, agentic workflows, and personalization systems.
- Lead design and delivery of complex cross-team initiatives from ambiguous requirements through production launch and iteration.
- Write, review, and improve production code across services and application logic.
- Establish production LLM practices covering prompt and context design, evaluation, latency, cost, guardrails, and quality measurement.
- Partner with product, design, data science, and platform teams on roadmaps, model serving, data, and infrastructure dependencies.
- Identify and resolve reliability, performance, and scalability risks and contribute to incident response and operational excellence.
- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers and influence technical standards beyond the immediate team.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with a record of leading large-scale, high-impact systems.
- Strong proficiency in one or more of TypeScript, Java, Scala, Python, or a similar language, with deep expertise in building and operating production services.
- Experience building AI- or ML-powered product features, ideally involving LLMs, agentic systems, retrieval, or recommendation and personalization systems.
- Strong system design and architecture decision-making skills under ambiguity and competing constraints.
- Demonstrated technical leadership through setting direction, cross-functional alignment, and mentoring without formal authority.
- Experience with AI/ML production concerns including evaluation, latency and cost tradeoffs, monitoring, and quality or safety guardrails.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining technical tradeoffs to technical and non-technical partners.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
