Responsibilities
- Lead technical solutions and implement cloud platform systems that improve scalability, reliability, and engineering velocity.
- Design and maintain compute platform architecture across IaaS and PaaS environments.
- Develop and operate infrastructure tools and frameworks for IAM, WAF, monitoring, high availability, Kubernetes, Helm, Flux, and infrastructure automation.
- Work with public cloud platforms and container orchestration systems, including Google Cloud Platform, AWS, and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to translate application requirements into infrastructure capabilities.
- Apply automation-centered SRE practices to increase reliability and reduce operational toil.
- Participate in technical design, architecture decisions, troubleshooting, and cross-functional communication.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and architecting infrastructure in Linux production environments supporting modern web applications.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure, platform, application, cloud, containerization, networking, application reliability, and database architecture.
- Demonstrable knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, web application security, and multi-tier web application architectures.
- Experience running infrastructure at scale using configuration management and automation for idempotency, ephemerality, and reliability.
- Professional knowledge of Python, Go, or another higher-level object-oriented programming language.
- Professional experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, and CI/CD toolsets.
- Familiarity with SRE methodologies and using automation and software to solve operational problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across organizational levels.

- Expected base pay is $202,500–$274,000 annually for Oakland; pay depends on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
