Base Salary

$188k - $277k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Write and review software code and tests, including evaluating implementation quality, best practices, and algorithmic complexity.
  • Design, document, and review robust, scalable, tolerant distributed systems in a high-throughput, low-latency microservices environment.
  • Research, prototype, and propose improvements to ad-serving systems that reduce cost and overhead, improve maintainability, and accelerate feature delivery.
  • Partner with Product and engineering leads to assess requirements, define technical implementations, and support execution.
  • Define and enhance system observability through metrics, monitors, logs, and alerts.
  • Support engineers during on-call shifts when needed.
  • Lead architectural discussions, reconcile diverse requirements with technical capabilities, and mentor and inspire engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or relevant work experience.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with Java, including heap management, multithreading, garbage collection, and profiling.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and design skills in highly distributed and highly available services ecosystems.
  • Comprehensive experience with SpringBoot and related Spring projects, non-relational databases such as DynamoDB, Redis and/or MemCache, Apache Kafka and/or Kinesis, AWS or another cloud platform, and observability tooling.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Preferred experience with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Preferred knowledge of the ad-tech industry.
