Base Salary

$251k - $286k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support foundation model training, LLM inference, agents, multi-agent workflows, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability components.
  • Optimize foundation model training and inference systems for scalability, cost, latency, throughput, and hardware utilization.
  • Design and optimize multi-model orchestration pipelines integrating LLMs, vector search, and domain-specific models.
  • Lead cost-performance governance reviews tracking GPU utilization, model throughput, and inference cost efficiency.
  • Lead design councils and review boards to maintain technical consistency and AI engineering standards.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap for foundational AI systems.
  • Mentor Principal- and Manager-level AI engineers and foster cross-domain technical learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus at least 6 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a master’s degree in one of these fields plus at least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 6 years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.
  • Preferred experience leading AI system development with cost, latency, throughput, and accuracy tradeoffs.
  • Preferred 7 years of experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or an equivalent private cloud.
  • Experience developing complex AI systems, agentic AI systems and workflows, LLM inference, similarity search, vector databases, guardrails, and memory.
  • Experience optimizing training and inference software, right-sizing models and infrastructure, and applying dynamic inference strategies or model compression.
  • Experience architecting unified production pipelines combining rule-based, retrieval-augmented, and generative components.
  • Experience defining ethical AI deployment standards covering explainability, fairness, and human-in-the-loop review.
  • Strong engineering, mathematics, communication, presentation, and AI research application skills.
