Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture for the automation and observability platform through design sign-off and delivery oversight.
- Define scalable integration patterns and API standards across Cisco, Nokia, Juniper, cloud providers, and internal OSS/BSS systems.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, conduct proofs of concept, and recommend technology, vendor, and build-versus-buy decisions.
- Translate network operational requirements into maintainable architectures addressing performance, reliability, security, and operational coverage.
- Align architectural decisions with business strategy, network roadmaps, engineering standards, and external partners.
- Review engineering designs, establish integration standards, and provide architectural governance across the platform.
- Mentor engineers and represent the team in cross-functional design forums and vendor engagements.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 4 years of experience in solutions architecture, enterprise architecture, or senior platform engineering, including meaningful telecommunications, network, or large-scale infrastructure experience.
- Strong understanding of telco system integration, OSS/BSS platforms, network management systems, RESTful APIs, and event-driven APIs.
- Knowledge of software architecture principles including API design, microservices, and service decomposition.
- Familiarity with NETCONF, gNMI, and model-driven network programmability sufficient to evaluate and govern solutions.
- Experience evaluating and integrating AWS, Azure, or GCP into network or operational technology stacks.
- Working knowledge of BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, segment routing, and transport network design.
- Exposure to AI/ML applications in operations such as intent-based automation, anomaly detection, and closed-loop assurance.
- Experience with TOGAF, TM Forum eTOM, TM Forum Open APIs, or equivalent architecture standards.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills for working with engineers, senior leaders, and external vendors.
