Responsibilities
- Design and own the architecture roadmap for Live Sports and Discover APIs.
- Develop, support, and improve highly available and scalable Coupang Play backend systems.
- Formulate scalable, low-latency technical solutions for product requirements.
- Lead key projects involving new API development for strategic growth areas such as Live Sports streaming.
- Mentor and develop engineering team members while establishing best practices for code quality, system performance, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with product, design, mobile, quality engineering, and other stakeholders on technical and business requirements.
- Leverage AI for task automation and improved development quality and velocity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in server application and systems engineering using a modern language.
- Deep expertise in low-latency, high-throughput systems, performance profiling, and cost/performance trade-offs.
- Expertise in one or more backend programming languages: Go, Java, JavaScript, or Node.js.
- Proficiency with modern cloud computing platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred: production experience with video streaming and related data systems.
- Preferred: ability to collaborate with iOS and Android developers on mobile application and API integration troubleshooting.
- Preferred: experience with GraphQL.
- Preferred: professional English communication skills.
