Responsibilities
- Identify, analyze, and document network signals, malware behaviors, threat reports, and adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures.
- Provide clear, actionable, structured intelligence to product and security teams and help safeguard corporate and production systems.
- Own analysis efforts for multiple threat actors and serve as a subject matter expert on their potential impact to Google and its users.
- Develop automation opportunities and proof-of-concept code, and collaborate with stakeholders to deploy solutions.
- Manage priorities and assignments with minimal supervision while maintaining quality and deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Five years of experience with security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling.
- Five years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols.
- Five years of coding experience in one or more general-purpose languages.
- One year of experience leading teams in a technical capacity or leading technical risk analysis in an enterprise environment.
- Preferred: two years of experience in threat intelligence, incident response, a security operations center, or a closely related analyst role.
- Preferred: experience with detection engineering using YARA, Snort/Suricata, or EDR rule creation.
- Preferred: experience with Python, C/C++, or scripting languages.
- Preferred: experience in reverse engineering and strong knowledge of network fundamentals, lateral movement, malware persistence, covert channels, application security, user authentication, and command-and-control techniques.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
