Base Salary
$90k - $158k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead development of Clover’s Employees platform, shift scheduling capabilities, and backend ecosystems.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations.
- Partner with product managers and designers to define requirements and plan and deliver maintainable software.
- Own merchant- and employee-facing features from design and development through deployment and production monitoring.
- Participate in system design, code reviews, test planning, debugging, and on-call support.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure and QA teams on data models, system availability, performance, and quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of hands-on professional software development experience delivering complex production-grade backend systems.
- Strong coding skills in the JVM ecosystem, especially Java, and extensive Spring Boot experience.
- Hands-on experience deploying application containers with Kubernetes and managing infrastructure with Terraform.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including query optimization and schema design.
- Deep expertise designing secure, performant RESTful APIs and writing scalable, testable, high-performance code.
- Preferred experience includes Google Cloud Platform, workforce management or payroll platforms, enterprise integrations, generative AI or LLM integrations, and AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot.
