Base Salary
$82k - $172k/yr
Responsibilities
- Champion high-quality, reproducible software using version control, modular design, automated testing, documentation, and CI/CD practices.
- Develop solutions within a secure cloud-based architecture using technologies such as Apache Airflow and Microsoft Purview.
- Manage environment setup, version control, deployment, and CI/CD processes for the Agency Data Catalog and Open Innovation Products.
- Build and maintain integrations with enterprise systems through APIs, S3 ingestion endpoints, and database connectors.
- Implement features for metadata management, asset ingestion, automation workflows, and platform usability.
- Mentor and coach software engineers on software engineering design principles and provide strategic technical guidance.
- Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, data science, platform, and product stakeholders to support data platform requirements.
- Document technical requirements, user stories, workflow specifications, and technical solutions for integrations and interfaces.
- Support work estimation, sequencing, and prioritization with the scrum master and team.
- Work with platform customers to triage and resolve issues, enable self-service, and improve the platform based on feedback.
Requirements
- Experience building scalable data-driven services, data ingestion pipelines, automation workflows, and high-reliability enterprise cloud solutions.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience solving complex problems with creative, practical, and feasible solutions.
- Ability to collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, platform engineers, cybersecurity teams, product stakeholders, and platform customers.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills in dynamic, remote environments.
- Demonstrated experience with agile project management tools.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a NASA Public Trust background investigation.
- Preferred experience with the NASA Web Services Operational Environment and enterprise data platform applications such as Microsoft Purview and Apache Airflow.
- Interest in driving innovation through independent contributions and strategic guidance of software engineers at all levels.
- Preferred experience supporting Federal government projects and designing and documenting continuous integration and continuous deployment solutions.
