Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project engineers, suppliers, and customers to understand and implement project requirements.
- Develop new software modules and configure existing modules based on project requirements.
- Acquire and evaluate communication interfaces from equipment manufacturers, including generator controllers, energy meters, PV inverters, and wind turbines.
- Implement device communication and ensure secure installations in accordance with cybersecurity standards.
- Integrate the company’s software into existing customer SCADA systems.
- Participate in project commissioning, troubleshooting, and potentially on-site customer work.
- Provide regular second-level software support to the service team.
- Document project tasks.
Requirements
- Completed degree in automation engineering, electrical engineering, or a comparable technical field.
- Multiple years of experience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, M-Bus, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104/101, and OPC/UA.
- Multiple years of experience working with PLCs in industrial environments, preferably B&R Automation.
- Fluent German and good English communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel for commissioning and second-level support.
- Field experience with PV, wind, battery, gas prime-power, or emergency-diesel electrical systems is preferred.
- Practical TCP/IP networking experience, including router configuration and network topologies, is preferred.
- Knowledge of cyber-secure systems is preferred.
- Strong communication, teamwork, commitment, responsibility, willingness to learn, and independent working ability.
