Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java and Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs running on Azure.
  • Build scalable, secure, and resilient services using Azure services, Kubernetes, relational databases, and NoSQL databases.
  • Own services end-to-end across design, development, testing, deployment, observability, support, and continuous improvement.
  • Translate business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans with architects and product teams.
  • Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps practices.
  • Apply distributed-systems and cloud-native patterns such as circuit breakers, retries, caching, and event-driven design.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to improve delivery speed and code quality.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture forums.
  • Mentor developers, pair program, lead design sessions, and provide technical guidance.
  • Contribute to engineering-practice, tooling, and platform improvements.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of professional software development experience building production-grade applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field, or equivalent demonstrable professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architectures.
  • Experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Azure and preferably container-based workloads.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, including AKS, for container orchestration, deployment, and scaling.
  • Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, Redis, or Cassandra.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Git-based workflows such as GitHub or Azure DevOps.
  • Understanding of cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, resiliency, and scalability patterns.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Codeium, or similar AI-assisted development tools.
  • Ability to mentor engineers, lead design sessions, and influence architecture and engineering decisions.
  • Preferred experience includes large-scale high-availability systems, additional Azure services, event-driven architectures, messaging and streaming platforms, observability tooling, security best practices, and React, Angular, or similar frontend technologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, collaboration, and ownership skills.
