Base Salary

$142k - $197k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain reliable backend services and APIs supporting Cash Line and the broader borrower journey.
  • Develop systems for offer generation, pricing, underwriting, funding, and account management.
  • Work across the stack to integrate backend capabilities with borrower-facing applications and partner systems.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to scope, build, and ship borrower-focused features.
  • Write tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
  • Improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and observability while diagnosing and resolving issues across environments.
  • Support experimentation and iterative product improvements using data and customer feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, and 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency building backend services and APIs using a language such as Python, Java, Kotlin, Ruby, or Node.js.
  • Experience with REST or GraphQL APIs, data models, and distributed systems or service-oriented architectures.
  • Strong software testing, maintainability, and code review fundamentals.
  • Ability to collaborate with product and design partners to deliver features from requirements through production.
  • Preferred experience building scalable consumer-facing systems with complex user journeys.
  • Preferred familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD workflows, observability, experimentation, A/B testing, or feature flagging.
  • Preferred exposure to fintech, lending, payments, regulated financial products, and AI tools in engineering workflows.
