Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support secure, scalable, and highly available AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and related DevOps tooling.
- Implement least-privilege IAM security models and support vulnerability remediation and cloud security initiatives.
- Partner with engineering teams to improve deployment reliability and developer productivity.
- Troubleshoot database and infrastructure issues on supported services.
- Build automation and tooling for data engineering teams.
- Plan, test, and execute disaster recovery activities with engineering teams.
- Participate in incident management and an on-call rotation.
- Document environments and procedures and share technical knowledge with team members.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on AWS cloud engineering experience in enterprise-scale environments.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional certification is required.
- Strong experience designing and supporting production AWS infrastructure and participating in incident management and on-call rotations.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages.
- Experience supporting Linux and Windows-based cloud environments.
- Strong database technology and architecture knowledge, including SQL Server, Redshift, or PostgreSQL.
- Strong understanding of high availability, automated infrastructure and application deployment, networking, firewalls, and load balancing.
- Experience with code reviews and deployment pipelines such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
- Knowledge of logging, monitoring, and alerting platforms such as AWS CloudWatch, Spotlight, ELK, and Prometheus.
- Understanding of security and compliance challenges involving PCI, SOX, and GDPR.
- Preferred qualifications include Databricks administration or platform support, Kubernetes/EKS operations, Spark-based data platforms, Airflow or workflow orchestration, data lake architectures, analytics platforms, and regulated-environment experience.
