Base Salary
$190k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own Terraform-based platform infrastructure, including VPC, IAM, networking, CI/CD pipelines, and environment provisioning.
- Build and maintain internal developer tooling and service abstractions that help product engineers deploy and operate their code.
- Advance observability, metrics collection, monitoring, alerting, and synthetic monitoring for business and financial operations.
- Harden CI/CD pipelines through secrets migration and self-service deployment tooling.
- Support GCP infrastructure, messaging reliability, dead-letter queue handling, compliance remediation, local development tooling, cost visibility, and infrastructure documentation.
- Operate independently on production infrastructure changes and partner closely with product engineering teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or backend engineering with significant infrastructure ownership.
- Experience building or substantially maturing internal developer tooling, CI/CD systems, or service platforms.
- Experience working independently in startup or small-team environments with meaningful infrastructure ownership.
- Production experience with cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code, preferably GCP; AWS or Azure experience is also relevant.
- Strong proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
- Experience with container orchestration such as Kubernetes or ECS and building CI/CD pipelines from the ground up.
- Backend engineering proficiency in at least one production language such as Go, Python, or TypeScript/Node.
- Experience designing and maintaining internal APIs and service abstractions.
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry.
- Understanding of secrets management, access control, and secure-by-default infrastructure patterns.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred qualifications include fintech or regulated-industry experience, compliance tooling experience, GCP and cross-cloud infrastructure experience, database platform experience, and experience scaling internal platforms.
