Base Salary

$170k - $205k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and operate scalable backend services powering Crusoe Cloud user experiences.
  • Own API gateway capabilities including routing, authentication and authorization, rate limiting, versioning, tracing, and tenant isolation.
  • Build and evolve notification and eventing systems with reliable delivery, deduplication, fan-out, and user preference controls.
  • Develop quota and entitlement workflows for self-service requests, transparent limits, and correct enforcement under contention.
  • Harden and automate customer onboarding, provisioning, identity, and organization flows to reduce time-to-first-GPU.
  • Extend resource management models, lifecycle state machines, reconciliation loops, and infrastructure provisioning workflows.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions, reliability practices, hiring, mentorship, and an inclusive engineering culture.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of software development experience, including programming with modern compiled languages such as Go, Rust, Java, or C++.
  • Experience designing versioned public APIs using gRPC/protobuf or REST and related SDK, CLI, or Terraform provider surfaces.
  • Knowledge of API gateway and edge concerns including routing, authorization, rate limiting, quota checks, validation, and graceful degradation.
  • Experience designing and scaling fault-tolerant distributed systems and managed cloud services.
  • Strong PostgreSQL and relational database skills, including schema design, transactions, isolation levels, locking, and online migrations.
  • Practical experience with message queues or streaming systems such as Kafka, NATS, or Pub/Sub and reliable event-processing patterns.
  • Experience building long-running, resumable workflows, state machines, reconciliation loops, or workflow engines such as Temporal.
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD systems.
  • Experience with observability, SLOs, metrics, logs, traces, production debugging, and on-call operations.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, mentor engineers, improve hiring and onboarding, and communicate complex technical ideas.
  • Preferred experience includes public cloud consoles or developer platforms, AI/ML workload infrastructure, financial or billing systems, high-growth startups, neocloud providers, or relevant open-source projects.
