Base Salary
$131k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction of secure, scalable payment applications from early concepts and architecture through implementation and production.
- Modernize legacy solutions using cloud-native application architectures and lead development for complex or high-risk capabilities.
- Partner with product, architecture, engineering, and business teams to define designs, delivery plans, integrations, and migration strategies.
- Set engineering standards for design, testing, security, observability, performance, documentation, and production readiness.
- Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, influence stakeholders, and connect technical work to customer and business outcomes.
- Analyze and estimate software solution effort and develop alternative delivery and design approaches.
Requirements
- Approximately 10+ years of experience in software engineering, application development, or enterprise solution delivery.
- At least 7+ years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, or comparable backend technologies.
- At least 5+ years of experience building and deploying cloud-native applications, ideally on AWS.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, legacy or high-volume transactional applications, and relevant AWS services.
- Experience with containers, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing, observability, security, and resilient production operations.
- Demonstrated technical leadership through mentoring, architecture and code reviews, stakeholder influence, and delivery of customer-focused outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of software development and design standards, infrastructure technologies, operating systems, SDLC, application architecture, and integration and migration strategies.
- Ability to use approved AI-assisted tools or cloud AI services to improve engineering quality and efficiency.
