Responsibilities
- Develop and review source code and infrastructure or application configurations according to software requirements.
- Lead Level 3 support for Hadoop compute and storage, Spark configurations and security, on-premises and cloud data workflows, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Develop continuous improvements for big-data applications across production and non-production environments.
- Debug and fix production incidents, provide support to Level 2 teams, and perform problem and root-cause analysis.
- Conduct code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and quality analysis while resolving software test findings and defects.
- Implement architectural changes, integrate software components, identify dependencies, and verify integrations according to the test plan.
- Manage change items, release deployments, application maintenance, and technical change requests according to release-management processes.
- Create and maintain deployment instructions, user guides, training materials, and release documentation.
- Collaborate across the software development lifecycle and contribute to improvements in scalability, reliability, availability, and performance.
- Assist and share knowledge with more junior team members where applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or Software Engineering, with a minor in Finance, Mathematics, or Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong analytical, communication, teamwork, and knowledge-transfer skills, including the ability to work in virtual and matrixed organizations.
- Ability to design and write code from business requirements and contribute to quality-assurance strategy and architecture decisions.
- Knowledge of IT delivery, architecture, data modeling, and data analysis.
- Relevant Financial Services experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities while balancing business and IT demands.
- Very good knowledge of Java or Scala, Spark, Hadoop, Hive, workflow orchestrators such as Airflow, Control-M, or Composer, and Python, Bash, or shell scripting.
- Cloud experience, preferably with GCP and IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
- Knowledge of HP ALM, Jira, ServiceNow, SDLC, and Agile processes.
- Ability to use AI tools productively while applying critical judgment for responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
- Fluent written and verbal English.
