Data Engineer

- Translate business requirements and use cases into scalable data solutions with cross-functional teams.
- Design and develop optimized, reliable, and secure data pipelines for real-time and batch processing.
- Build real-time data solutions using Scala, Apache Spark, and Azure Databricks.
- Partner with data scientists and stakeholders to operationalize machine learning models.
- Champion data governance, metadata management, operational excellence, data quality, and data integrity.
- Develop validation frameworks and monitoring mechanisms for data platforms.
- Perform coding, testing, peer reviews, technical documentation, and troubleshooting.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of overall experience in data engineering or related fields.
- At least 2 years of experience building pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- At least 1 year of experience with PySpark, Hadoop, Kafka, EventHub, and Stream Analytics.
- At least 1 year of experience with relational and dimensional data modeling using SQL Server and data warehousing concepts.
- At least 2 years of experience with T-SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- At least 2 years of experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL DB, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Preferred experience includes at least 2 years with Azure ML, Python, and Scala.
- Preferred experience includes at least 2 years with Power BI and Azure Analysis Services.
- Experience gathering requirements and analyzing use cases with business stakeholders.
- Strong communication, collaboration, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems such as Git is preferred.
- Azure Data Engineer Certification or equivalent is a strong advantage.
